STEP 1 – SPRING APPLICATION – WEED & FEED                    P/N: 14010

The Andersons Turf Products Fertilizer 18-0-4 with .125% Dimension Herbicide Pre & Early Post Emergent Control

This product controls crabgrass and other summer annual weeds before they germinate as well as shortly after germination. This prevents you from fertilizing too early in the spring, which conserves root growth before the summertime on Midwest grass types. Feeds up to 8 weeks depending on watering events, rain and irrigation.

STEP 2 – SUMMER APPLICATION – FEED & GREEN                                 P/N: 14020

The Andersons Turf Products 24-0-11 Summer Feed

50 lb bag covers 8,000-15,000 sq ft.

This is a slow-release fertilizer that feeds approximately .10 lbs of N/1,000 sqft./week in order to extend the duration of dark green grass.  Our EarthWay Turf Scientist and former golf course superintendent selected this blend because it contains 2% Iron (Fe) and 1% Manganese (Mn). These nutrients give a rich green color in the hottest months of summer, something that the popular store-bought fertilizer brands do not guarantee. The slow release nitrogen helps the grass to grow in a uniform manner. Step 2 feeds up to 12 weeks depending on watering events, rain and irrigation.

Timing: The application date is June 1^st if applying S2.5 Grub Control, if skipping S2.5, then apply July 4^th.

STEP 3 – SUMMER RECOVERY W/SLOW RELEASE NITROGEN                             P/N: 14030

The Andersons Turf Products 22-0-3 Summer Recovery

This well-balanced fertilizer restores Midwest turfs from the damage of hot summer days. This product feeds approximately .10 lbs of N/1,000 sqft./week. This is considered one of the most important applications for cool-season grasses and builds a foundation for strong fall turf. Feeds for up to 10 weeks depending on watering events, rain and irrigation.

Timing:  Apply September 1^st

STEP 4 – WINTERIZER – ROOT MAXIMIZER                                            P/N: 14040

The Andersons Turf Products 46-0-0 Fertilizer Winterizer

50 lb bag covers 8,000-15,000 sq ft.

This is the final and most important application for cool-season grass. This application will strengthen roots for early spring green-up and healthier turf. It can and should only be applied in temperatures of 45 degrees and below. The fertilizer should be applied near the last mowing of the season. This product is a 100% quick release and feeds 1.5 lbs to 2 lbs of N/1,000 sqft. This application packs a punch to build you bigger and better roots to help the Midwest grass fend off the heat and drought of the next year’s summer. Because of Step 4, your grass will grow up quicker, stronger, thicker, and greener the following spring.
