How can I prevent my spreader from rusting?

We encourage everyone to remove any extra material from the spreader before throughly cleaning the inside and outside of the spreader. Allow the spreader to completely dry before storing in a cool, dry area. You may coat the metal portions in a light oil.

How fast should I go when using this spreader?

EarthWay recommends moving at a rate of 3mph when operating the spreader.

Can this be used for ice melt?

Yes, please take out the agitator pin from inside the hopper before using with winter products or you may risk breaking your gears.
